Media Center Liaison
I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and read some great books to talk about. Students will continue to use Keyboarding Without Tears this year to learn basic keyboarding skills, computer literacy and digital citizenship. A new link will come soon for home access. We will also kick off a new reading challenge this year in library for grades 4-6. The Lumberjack Reading List video is shared on my website to see this years chosen titles. Students will be encouraged & challenged to read all 11 books throughout the course of the year & those students that read all will be voting in May for what Harman students believe is the best book of the year!!
I would like to remind parents that our library collection is shared by all grade levels. We have materials appropriate for 1st graders and others for 6th graders. All efforts are made by myself and volunteers to ensure students are checking-out appropriate materials for their reading & maturity levels. I consider many factors when purchasing books to add to our collection, including curriculum needs, award winning titles, staff suggestions, student popularity, and diversity.
Thanks & welcome back to another great year!!
